Glomac will launch a mixed development called Plaza @ Kelana Jaya, at the site formerly occupied by Kelana Jaya Seafood Centre. The freehold land has a land size of 3.22 acres and is fronting the busy Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong.
Plaza @ Kelana Jaya is a mixture of serviced apartments and SOHO with 696 units. The unit sizes range from 450 – 750 sq.ft. The project will also have 3-storey shop offices with unit sizes ranging from 3,390 sq. ft – 7,954 sq. ft. The developer is targeting the younger generation aged between 28 and 40, small families and first-time home buyers. Registration has been opened for the serviced apartments and SOHO and the response has been good. The project was initially called Glomac Serena but the name was changed due to its similarity with a nearby project.
The unique selling point for the project is that it is a freehold development and one of last prime lands in Petaling Jaya. It is in a prime location, fronting the LDP with easy access to other major roads. Kelana Jaya Centre, once a prominent landmark in Petaling Jaya, closed after 18 years in business. Glomac Segar Sdn Bhd acquired the land from PKNS (Selangor State Development Corp) on April 1 2008. The proposed plan back then was to extend the existing Plaza Kelana Jaya development that would comprise shop-offices, office suits, serviced apartments and a shopping mall. The project was scheduled to be launched in 2009, but put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances.
